Care19 is the official COVID-19 app for the states of Wyoming,SouthDakota and North Dakota. It can be used with reducedfunctionalityin other US states. A key part of the contact tracingprocess isremembering where you have been over the last 5-10 daysbeforetesting positive. This helps contact tracers determinepeople youmay have been near while you were infectious. Care19 isa digitaldiary that records places you visit. Many of the placesyou visitcan be recorded automatically by Care19 using the phone'slocationservices. In some cases you may need to manually add anentry if theautomated routines miss a place visit. This can happenbased on avariety of environmental factors. You will not be askedto provideany personally identifiable information within the app.Locationdata will only be shared with the North Dakota or SouthDakotaDepartment of Health if you consent upon testing positiveforCOVID-19. This is done by sharing a code number displayed onthe“About” section of the app. If you use the Care19 app outsideofNorth and South Dakota it can be used as a memory aide if youtestpositive and are contacted by your state's Department ofHealth.

Care19 Alert is the official COVID-19 exposure notification appforNorth Dakota and Wyoming as authorized by each states DepartmentofHealth. Care19 Alert allows you to receive notifications ifyouhave been near someone who has tested positive forCovid-19recently. Care19 Alert uses Apple’s Exposure NotificationAPI tohelp reduce the spread of the coronavirus, with user privacyandsecurity central to its design. Care19 Alert maintains yourprivacywhile securely communicating with nearby iOS and Androiddevicesthat also have exposure notifications enabled. This happensthroughthe exchange of random keys that change every 15 minutes.Thesekeys are stored securely on your device and hidden from theCare19Alert application. All keys remain on your device and arenotaccessible unless you have tested positive for COVID-19,beencontacted and verified by the Department of Health, and consenttosharing the random keys with others. Care19 Alert allows youtonotify others if you test positive for COVID-19 and it willnotifyyou if someone you came in contact tested positive forCOVID-19.With your permission, your key/date pairs will be securelyuploadedto the National Key Server run by the Association of PublicHealthLaboratories. All uploaded key/date pairs are distributed toall ofthe devices connected to the National Key Server. Thedownloadedkeys are matched by the operating system based oncriteriaestablished by each Department of Health, and if you have amatchyou will be notified of the exposure and provided byyourdepartment of Health with the set of actions to take provided.
